I hope the Directors of this company take the time to read this review. Unfortunately, our experience on site was negatively impacted by the site manager, Dean Morgan, due to very poor site management and leadership. There was a consistent lack of coordination, communication, and basic support for contractors. When clarification or direction was required, engagement was repeatedly avoided, creating unnecessary stress, confusion, and delays on site. His manner toward contractors was often rude and dismissive, which is not acceptable in a professional construction environment. A site manager should facilitate progress and problem-solve — not create tension and disruption. We have worked with many construction companies and site managers over the years, and this stands out as one of the poorest site management experiences we have encountered. Improved oversight or a change in site leadership would significantly benefit site performance and contractor relationships.

Our experience working with BLACK Interiors + Construction was extremely disappointing, largely due to the way the site was managed by Dean Morgan. The site appeared poorly organised, with very little clear direction for contractors. Information provided on site was often incorrect or changed without proper communication, which resulted in confusion and work having to be redone. This kind of mismanagement wastes time, disrupts workflow, and creates unnecessary delays across the project. There was also a clear lack of professionalism. At times, frustration on site seemed to be taken out on contractors, which is completely unacceptable in a professional construction environment. Contractors rely on competent site leadership to coordinate trades and keep projects running smoothly, but that standard was clearly not met here. Overall, this was one of the worst site management experiences we have encountered. With better leadership, organisation, and communication, the site could have operated far more efficiently and provided a far more professional environment for the contractors involved.

We commissioned Black Interiors to roll-out a new Retail look and feel throughout the Pacific; Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Nauru, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea. Led by Dylan Hutt, the team were a joy to work with. All locations (30 in total) were done within budget and on time. Working in the Pacific poses its challenges from communication and procurement to logistics. The team at Black Interiors delivered a turn-key solution for each location which included a customer journey map to ensure we were optimizing every touch point for engagement and monetization. A key piece of their execution was the cultural diversity within their team; this to me was the key to their success. Ensuring the right personnel in place to deal with the cultural diversity across the Pacific. To see the stores still delivering a return across the islands is testament to the ROI they communicated at time of engagement. Well done!
