Our dream house, with a place for everything and everything in its place. That's what Cam and the team at DX3 helped our family to achieve over the last two years as we turned a tired 1950's brick two-story into a beautfiul, warm and comfortable home, full of striking design elements and practical features that make living easy and fun. Throughout the design process, we were delighted at how skilful Cam was at listening to our ideas and coming up with stylish but sensible solutions. He never took our budget for granted and always presented a range of options to allow us achieve our goals but stay within our means. The process was efficient and very reasonably priced. DX3 never missed a deadline and steered us skilfully through the resource and building consent stages - making as many visits to the property as it took to get things right. We met Cameron from DX3 when we were investigating options to extend our small bungalow in Onehunga. We had some basic ideas about what we wanted but not a lot of direction otherwise. Even with our basic brief, Cameron could anticipate what we wanted to achieve and delivered a concept design that we fell in love with straight away. He then added to that design of a useable, flowing family home with some wonderful artistic flair, most notably our timber fin staircase and balustrade that still attracts a lot of attention from friends and family when they visit. Cameron helped transform our small home into a wonderful space that has grown with our family and we love it. We’re absolutely stoked with our new-build in Tinopai! Cam and the DX3 team smashed it from the start. Nailed the concept plan first go, right on brief. And just as easy through consenting and construction. Responsive and fun to work with. Great use of the site which has a beautiful outlook but is tightly hemmed in by adjacent properties. It’s a compact design, easy-to-live layout, and achievable to build on a budget. We got all the features we wanted, including high-stud living room, light-filled spaces, privacy from neighbours, and an open-plan indoor-outdoor flow into the front and back yards for the kids. The cutaway front elevation with double-height glazing orients to the view, and gives the house clear legibility of form. The overhang for the third bedroom was a clever touch which also gave us a “bonus” covered deck area. Couldn’t be happier, fantastic experience!
