My husband and I had a couple of nights at Iona, for a relaxing break and it was a great place to stay. Fabulous views, a lovely little hot-tub to soak in and the unique building itself to enjoy. An easy stroll across the bridge to the CBD and great eateries. We will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful absolutely stunning place to stay right on the banks of the Whanganui River. Easy access to town, peaceful and well set up. Lovely outdoor wooden hot tub. I highly recommend for a few days get away. It's truly a little slice of heaven

What an awesome find. We booked this for our wedding anniversary and loved every minute of it. Everything we wanted was there: the bed was super comfy, loads of pressure in the shower, lots of indoor and outdoor sitting spaces. No TV but that was a welcome change and part of the charm. Our host even recommended a great nearby pub (Porridge Watson) which had great food and craft beers. The articles about the boat, how the small house was built, the trades involved and the other recycled and repurposed materials were fascinating. Highly recommended, if we’re ever back in Wanganui this would be our first choice.
