Providence Construction Limited

Recently had work done by Providence Construction and had to go to the Disputes Tribunal where we won compensation under the Consumer Guarantees Act (as workmanship was not of a reasonable standard). Would not recommend using this Phil or this company for your building work and if you have had work already completed by them would suggest getting this reviewed to make sure it is of a legal standard.

Our Recommendation - AVOID PROVIDENCE AT ALL COSTS. Poor communication. Charge 30% deposit that they dont tell you they hold until the end of the job in case you dont pay, NOT normal practice. Damaged gib board and difficult to get them to own up. They say provide proof they caused it. Over estimated reqd Plywood but didn't tell us so lots sheets left over. Didn't provide a full estimate (missed a whole 10-15% portion of the job) off the estimate. Uses words like "on a without prejudice basis" to potentially hide behind legalities. Invoiced hours proven wrong but they say "but we didn't charge you for others" when challenged - not kosher. Drew in pencil on neighbours fence, the list goes on and on. Happy to be contacted to give more details but surely another builder will cause less hassle.

Have used Phil and his team over the years for various jobs, always professional, friendly with good workmanship.

External roof installed over an existing pergola. I am very happy with the workmanship and professionalism of the company. The price was realistic which is refreshing, I am in the building industry myself. Let them give you a quote. Will most definitely use them again.

Amazing business with amazing services. Have used them for large projects and smaller jobs and they always overdeliver.
