*Review is from November 2022, however they marked my review as spam so it would not be seen publicly. I have renewed my review so it can be seen, as the public deserve to know. Nightmare to work with, and I would not recommend working with Refresh Renovations. Apart from the initial stages of consultations which did go well, once the building work started, there was always problems which popped up delaying the build, what was supposed to be a 12-week project, ended up being an 8 month project just to practical completion, and then a further 5 months to get CCC. Very quick to blame other parties and not being accountable for their shortfalls. Another big issue was their choice of contractors, specifically the builders. They were very cowboy-like and the end result is a poor finish. A cavity sliding door does not open/close smoothly and despite raising this as a defect, they've replied back saying they cant fix it. Under the new dwelling, stagnate water after it rains, so guess where the moisture goes, yes up into the floorboards, which is already creaking in most places. They even severely damaged the stormwater pipes. If I had a time machine, I would go back and have another company complete my project. To this day, they haven't even come to remove their lockbox or to provide all the warranty paperwork

We recently had Refresh update our space with a new IKEA cupboard featuring a pull-out larder. It was quite a project, and Rick and his team took a bit longer than we initially thought, but they were patient and careful, making sure everything was perfect and checking in with us along the way. We truly appreciated that they didn’t ask for extra charges for the extra time. We highly recommend them and look forward to working with them again on future projects.

Refresh Manwatu constructed a carport beside our house. The team was great at consulting us on our requirements, providing advice and sourcing the particular clear roofing which we liked. They provided written plans and cost estimates to help us reach a decision. The work was completed to an excellent standard and I would highly recommend them to others.

Update: I find it quite surprising — I emailed my complaint to info email 10 days ago and haven’t received a response, but it seems someone did read my review and chose to respond there instead. I had a very disappointing experience with Refresh Renovations. What I thought was a reputable company turned out to be little more than a marketing shell that simply funnels jobs to individual franchisees — who then disband, disappear, or close their companies when issues arise. In my case, I was promised a 10-year warranty on drainage work. But when the system failed just 3 years later, I found out the franchise had shut down, no warranty honoured, no PS3 documentation, and no way to enforce responsibility. Even the Refresh HQ contract is worded in a way to completely distance themselves from any liability. I trusted the Refresh brand, not just an individual. Yet now I’m left with unresolved structural issues, thousands of dollars out of pocket, and no real accountability from anyone. I strongly advise anyone considering Refresh to think twice — once the job is done, you may be completely on your own.

Fantastic team at the Manawatu branch of refresh. From the office through to tradesmen and the project manager, all very professional and hard working. The quality of the workmanship cannot be faulted. Attached is the before (blue garage) and after (red garage) after refresh completely fixed fascias, roof, replaced and modernised kitchen window. Also internal works completed and further work is planned for next year.
