Trade Central

Disappointed and out of pocket. TC did a bathroom renovation in my 100+ year old villa in April (at significant cost). It went reasonably well. The quoting manager and project manager did a great job. The tradies sometimes turned up late or not at all pushing the finish date out. A new bathroom wall heater was wired and installed (there wasn't one before). Just over 6 months later and the bathroom heater no longer works. After 2 emails and 2 phone calls. I have been told that TC went into voluntary liquidation and the warranty for the heater and code of compliance on electrical work are apparently meaningless. New Trade Central, offered to replace the heater and check the wiring at full cost to me. No thanks!

I have used Trade Central for almost a decade, and what I have liked about their business is that I can make one phone call and have access to all the trades I need for my rental properties. They are punctual, the work is always done well, and I have confidence in the ability of their staff to do what’s right for my houses. Last year they did a major renovation to a bathroom for me, and it wasn’t an easy task but the final result was excellent.

I do not recommend trade central at all. We had a sleep out build it 2021 and we had 3 project managers, bloated budget and very very poor communication. While the build quality was good the customer service and communication from builders and project managers was very frustrating. Fast forward to 2024 I was informed they are under new management and so I try them again, only to find the same poor communication. I have waited 3 weeks now To set a plumber and have had multiple phone calls with no progress. Terrible system. Do not use

Unfortunately I didn’t ready reviews before booking the ( nelson) company. I booked a plumber for 8am - rang 8:30 as no show - appointment had been rescheduled to 09:30 with me being told , still no show - gave them time to contact me and update me - finally 09:45 I rang back and the lady said she would contact plumber - 10:00 with no return call - I got the Nz trade line as nelson didn’t answer and requested cancellation. I got rung back by nelson 10:15 and told plumber was delayed and could they reschedule for tomorrow. I said “no” No apology for experience received!!! Never again will I trust them ! Zero stars if I could !!

Very poor communication and terrible finish job. Trade Central was given the opportunity to finish their work properly and avoid a bad review such as this one, instead they did nothing about it. We contacted them to fix a leaking water pipe with a tiny crack by the entrance of our driveway. First, the bill didn’t reflect the number of hours spent on the sight. My neighbour was observing them and confirmed we’ve been over charged ($825). But the most disappointing fact for me was when they dug a hole in the driveway to fix the pipe, they just chucked in the soil back , didn’t compact it, left the cones around and sent the bill! I’ve asked some people from the same trade about their view and got the confirmation that Trade central finished job was not up to standard. From my side, I will never call them again.
