Working with Sam Perin to build our first home was a great experience, even with the challenges of the Covid lockdown. Sam helped us design the house, choose all the finishes, and organised the contractors, which made the whole process much easier. He was always available whenever we had questions or concerns and was quick to help sort things out during the build. Even after everything was finished, Sam has still been there to help with any issues. We’re really happy with our home and our experience with Design Builders BOP.

As first-home builders, we really valued how easy Sam was to work with. He guided us through every stage of the process. Everything felt smooth, well-organised and clearly communicated, which made what could have been a stressful experience feel straightforward and enjoyable. We were especially grateful for Sam’s patience and persistence in dealing with several council-related issues along the way. He handled these challenges calmly and professionally, keeping things moving forward without adding pressure on us. The builders and contractors involved were fantastic, and the quality of workmanship is evident throughout. The finishes in our home are impeccable, and we genuinely couldn’t be happier—there is nothing we would change. Importantly, our home was completed on time and within budget, which speaks volumes about the planning and management behind the scenes. If we were ever to build again, we wouldn’t hesitate to use Design Builders BOP. We highly recommend Sam Perrin to anyone looking to build their home.

We set out to build a reasonably priced bespoke home and did the rounds of the local show homes of various build companies. Once we visited Design Builders in Omokoroa, and met Sam and the team, it quickly became the obvious choice to develop our ideas with them. We were frequent visitors from that point onwards (neighbours possibly thought we lived there) as we traversed all the important things first time builders must navigate. We felt very much in good hands and were fortunate enough to receive excellent communication and updates from Sam and the project manager, work with their architect who got us and turned our drawings into workable plans, and have the workmanship from their builder and roofer (one pod wrapped in Coloursteel) who were at the top of their game. We still feel like we are on holiday in our new home. So impressed were we with the start to finish service and end product that we have since built a second home with Design Builders BOP for my mother in law. We know where we'll go for number three.

Our House The journey we had to arrive at what we and many others think is a classic “Design Build” was created by good planning, creative design and expert workmanship. In conjunction with Design builders and their team we were able to create a home that met our needs perfectly. Sam also provided continued support post our Design build. The design and look is ageless and the experience of living in our home and sharing it with family and friends has and will continue to be what we and the team from “Design Builders BOP”, have created. Sam and the team at Design Builders were fantastic. They were pleasant to deal with and they went above and beyond to meet our requirements with great communication. All minor issues after the build were dealt with efficiently and quickly. Sam even came out on a public holiday to sort one of our issues.
